A roughly 30-foot-high circular chamber deep in the Abomination Vaults below the Gauntlight, filled with fifteen transparent pillars, each suspending a different creature frozen motionless in transparent stone (the party noted a dryad and a gibbering mouther among them). The room is lit from above and ringed by a catwalk about 10 feet up. A 9th-level witchfire (incorporeal undead with green flames, requiring ghost-touch to harm) patrols it; the party timed its patrol and snuck past via Stealth rather than fighting it, and found no mechanism to release the frozen creatures [S54]. It sits on the route down toward 'the Gauntlight' that the ruby's Locate pointed to, just before Yasonkler's chamber.

S43 A room of barred cells in the vault. The first two cells are quiet; the third holds popping flesh-heap creatures. The party reads it as a Seugathi prison where captives are kept and experimented on to make gladiator fodder. Looted for a copper key. [S43 · 01:21:53 · turn 0422]
