Aravian (beat-up devil) is a Fistophilus — a contract devil and former high-level legal operative — who has been bound to the Material Plane for an unusually long period. He originally contracted with Belcorra to build her an army, making him a sufficiently powerful being that Belcorra must have gone to considerable effort to bring him to this plane [S48, S49]. Wrin noted that it is rare for a devil to remain contracted so long outside Hell, and that some ongoing reason must keep him bound even after Belcorra's death [S49]. Aravian leads the devils occupying the level below the laboratories. He and the flesh-warper boss Jafki negotiated an uneasy truce following the devil-Sgathi war, establishing a fragile equilibrium on that floor [S49]. The imp Sizek serves as his note-taker. His office lies behind a sigiled five-pointed-star door near a Hellfire Forge room. By S60, the party had learned he operates like a "big-shot lawyer type" who set the devil Sinemi after Carman Rajani with a large "captured alive" bounty tied to Rajani's Rose Guard and artifact connections, then imprisoned Sinemi when she failed. As of S62, further details emerged from his imp: Aravian has an arrangement with "old Belcorra," broke a deal back in Hell over something he never delivered, and is now too afraid to return — the undelivered obligation may be the real anchor keeping him plane-bound. He sealed himself behind a door that opens only with a five-piece amulet, and has magically blocked the route deeper into the dungeon. The party had targeted his chamber as their next confrontation as of S62. S64 sharpens the threat without resolving the name-noise: the party researches Uravian/Erevian as a dangerous contract devil with protected contracts, fire immunity, holy weakness, silver-relevant physical resistance, and high-level innate scrying. Carman does not recognize the name, so why Aravian wants the Rajani line alive remains unresolved. S67 confirms the party is now treating Cid as the Rajani loophole after Wrin's ancestry work. Rather than sign Uravian's draft, they recruit Menhem and Morlibint to help design terms that would count Cid as the delivered Rajani immediately, force Uravian's assistance and barrier removal, and block direct or indirect retaliation [S67]. S68 resolves the counter-contract gamble: Uravian accepts the revised terms, Venris signs in blood, and Uravian concedes the party has gotten the better of him. He turns over the pen, gold, orders workers to clear rubble, removes the barrier, handles Kalido for the day, and gives the promised answer that Belcorra must be defeated by focusing Nimbaloth's gaze upon her.

Aravian first emerges as a contract devil bound outside Hell by an unusually long-running arrangement with Belcorra. Wrin identifies the situation as abnormal, while later testimony places him in control of the devils below the laboratories and the routes farther down [S48, 03:06:08; S49, 06:30:24]. By S60 the party learns that he placed a captured-alive bounty on Carman Rajani; Sizek later says Aravian broke an obligation in Hell, fears returning, and sealed himself behind a five-piece amulet door [S60, 03:28:02; S62, 00:47:51].
S65 brings the party face to face with him. Uravian demands Carman Rajani's soul, preferably in Carman's living body, and offers gold, assistance and passage deeper into the vaults [S65, 00:32:19, turn_0537; S65, 00:32:23, turn_0538; S65, 00:38:00, turn_0636]. In the second meeting he expands the unsigned offer to 1,200 gold, a Quill of Passage, help against the grave knight and guidance for disabling the Gauntlight, while admitting that harvesting the delivered soul would kill its owner [S65, 03:58:42, turn_4461; S65, 03:59:09, turn_4471; S65, 04:09:00, turn_4643].
His obligation is broader than Carman: Uravian says he requires the soul of a Rajani and ties the demand to an older hunt for Vol Rajani's soul [S65, 03:26:02, turn_3785; S65, 04:12:47, turn_4695]. The party leaves without signing and constructs a possible loophole around Cid's unconfirmed Rajani ancestry. Uravian remains active, the lower route remains under his control, and no contract has been accepted [S65, 04:49:20, turn_5543; S65, 05:38:46, turn_6515].
S67 moves Uravian from threat to drafting and negotiation problem. After Wrin's ancestry work leaves the party treating Cid as a secret Rajani, Venris explains the plan to Menhem and then to Morlibint: the party needs a contract that brings "a Rajani," lets Cid satisfy the wording immediately, obligates Uravian to remove the barrier and assist, and prevents direct or indirect retaliation [S67, 00:46:48, turn_0860; S67, 01:10:28, turn_1362; S67, 01:13:40, turn_1435; S67, 01:24:04, turn_1634]. The later player-side capture records Veve opening the audience, Venris producing the prepared contract, and the party bargaining toward barrier removal, limited Belcorra information, and noninterference [S67, 03:41:38, turn_1838; S67, 03:46:41, turn_1864; S67, 04:22:59, turn_2062; S67, 04:31:59, turn_2106]. Venris is named as the intended signer, but the episode ends during repeated hidden-term review without preserving a signature [S67, 04:36:41, turn_2131; S67, 04:58:56, turn_2236; S67, 05:00:52, turn_2244].
S68 pays off the loophole. Uravian judges the party's revised language adequate, and Venris signs; the contract burns into his wrist and Uravian describes it as blood-bound assurance [S68, 00:10:35, turn_0114; S68, 00:16:11, turn_0221; S68, 00:21:13, turn_0335]. Uravian then admits the party "gotten the better" of him, transfers the pen and gold, orders work on the rubble, removes the barrier, and gives the promised Belcorra answer: focus Nimbaloth's gaze upon her [S68, 00:26:44, turn_0427; S68, 00:31:19, turn_0513; S68, 00:41:20, turn_0711]. The signing resolves the immediate Rajani-sacrifice gamble, but Uravian remains an active infernal actor and the Kalido window is only for the day.
