A giant tentacled, single-eyed creature that forms out of the magical mist filling its room, said to have once been a water elemental that became corrupted. It grabs, immobilizes, and constricts victims, is concealed by its own solid fog (flat DC 5 to attack), and has fast healing; the party judged it far above their level and defeated a lone surviving specimen after a long, near-deadly fight (S6). Its corpse remained undisturbed in the same library spot, referenced only as a landmark in S14.
