A faction of ghouls below the morlocks' level, reached down the stairs past the shrine in a library area. The morlock leader calls them heretics that must be slaughtered and tasks the party with destroying them; the party had not yet engaged them at this point [S8]. They appear to venerate the outer god Nimbaloth, whose image guards the library's restricted-collection door, believed to lead to their high priestess [S13].
