A dispute over whether Cid gets the Scout exploration activity's +1 circumstance bonus to initiative when the party can't actually see the ambusher, and how it interacts with his Battlefield Surveyor (+2 whether scouting or not). The GM questioned the flavor; the player argued the bonus is mechanical and shouldn't require in-world justification. The first of the two arguments that compounded into the session's blowup.
