The Greater Folding Boat was a magical shape-shifting item the party acquired as an arena prize in S46 and kept for anticipated water levels. It collapses into a compact box or expands into a rowboat, but its passenger limits were already strained by Cid's heavy armor in S62. In S63 it finally carried the party into the flooded Gauntlight chamber, then was destroyed when the star glagon critically bit it during the underwater fight.
