Construction and necromancy notes is a large open book first discovered in S18 lying open on a workshop worktable within the Abomination Vaults. Its contents blend architectural construction notes with necromantic theory, and the party identified it through Arcana and Occultism checks [S18 00:28:06]. At that point it was flagged as a research lead: revisiting the library while referencing the book would grant a +1 or +2 bonus to further study.
The item's significance expanded considerably when Abbas made a dedicated trip to the Absalom library to retrieve it [S35 01:28:57]. Studying it magically rewards the entire party with a Free Archetype benefit and a pool of spells the casters can learn from — making it one of the more impactful items the group has secured. It also serves as one of four required relics needed to open the Otari door.
As of S36, Abbas keeps the book hidden beneath his dueling cape after a long interrogation session spent examining it [S36 00:56:32]. He suspects it may be corrupted by the empty death, or that its writing carries dangers better left unread. The book is substantial — roughly 2 bulk — and contributes meaningfully to Abbas's encumbrance load. Its dual identity as a potent mechanical reward and a potentially corrupted artifact leaves its full significance unresolved as of the most recent recorded session.
S54 A recovered journal with blank pages that conceal hidden, unreadable writing. The party seeks the method used to hide/reveal it; Otari was uploaded the journal into Foundry and promised to recall details. The blank section still bears no visible writing. [S54 · 02:38:26 · turn 1256]

S36 The spellbook Abbas recovered after a long interrogation. He keeps it covered under his dueling cape, suspecting it is corrupted by the empty death or carries dangerous writing better left untouched. Weighs ~2 bulk, contributing to Abbas's near-encumbrance. [S36 · 00:11:14 · turn 0060]
S35 A book Abbas retrieved from the Absalom library (his stated goal for the trip), distinct from the older cursed/important 'old book.' Studying it magically grants the whole party Free Archetype and a pool of spells the casters can learn. One of the four relics for the Otari door. [S35 · 00:13:18 · turn 0089]
