Dreshkin (electrified flesh-warped Morlocks)

monster active

Current state

Dreshkin (electrified flesh-warped Morlocks) are Morlocks surgically and magically modified by the Sagathi lab, fused with metal plating, mechanical components, and electrical augmentation. Their most distinctive feature is metal-plated jaws that spray cones of needles dealing piercing and electricity damage, heralded by crackling blue arcane light [S49]. The needle-spray is a powerful triple-action ability requiring a basic Reflex save [S61]. Dreshkin can also physically stack or 'dock' atop one another, granting cover and attack bonuses to the docked pair [S49]. The party first encountered a Dreshkin pack in S49, when a group ambushed them from a secret tunnel; the party critted them apart in short order [S49]. By S52 a more developed picture emerged: Dreshkin are used as arena combatants within the dungeon, possess additional abilities including electrified 'loot' blasts, and burst with white-hot flame and electricity when struck. Two Dreshkin can megamorph together into a larger form dubbed the 'Giga Dreshkin,' capable of serving as a mount [S52]. In S55 the party spotted them through wall peepholes further ahead — recognized on a recall check, fused with mechanical parts and drilling deeper into the dungeon, but not yet engaged [S55]. In S60 the party encountered Dreshkin again in the prison-block barracks. Rated lower level than the party (then level 8), they called for shields and fought back, but Venris gutted the first for 57 damage and the group was dispatched quickly [S60]. A separate encounter in S61 placed four Dreshkin guarding the prison block; they braced on all fours, unleashed their needle-cone ability, and fought in a defensive cluster before all four were killed [S61]. As of S61 Dreshkin remain a recurring dungeon threat tied to the Sagathi lab's flesh-warping program.
